Industry Biosecurity Planning

Extensive policy development and advisory services with various agricultural industries in North Queensland. We work closely with government and industry peak bodies to develop and implement Biosecurity plans. This includes identifying potential risks, prioritising pest threats and communicating biosecurity requirements to stakeholders. We develop contingency plans which detail steps to be taken following an exotic pest incursion, and regularly review and update Incursion Management Plans to reflect evolving risks, new scientific knowledge and industry needs.

With the incursion of Varroa destructor into Australia, now more than ever there is strong need to establish Biosecurity measures and hive hygiene practices. We work with bee keepers to improve hive maintenance and assist with early warning and emergency pest and diseases management in Far North Queensland.
